V8 Supercars continues as one of Australia’s largest sports both in attendance and television audience. In 2010, around 1.7 million people walked through the gates at V8 Supercars events, including V8 Supercars’ 20 millionth spectator at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. While now an international category, the V8 Supercars Championship has increased its number of domestic events for the 2011 season, now with 12 local race weekends.
